How we work

Cut and sew, not print on blanks.

There are two ways to get a branded garment made, and they are not variations of the same thing.

The first is to buy a finished blank from a catalogue and decorate it. It is quick and cheap, and the garment underneath belongs to whoever made the blank. You cannot change its weight, its fit, its neck label or its cut, and nor can you stop anyone else ordering the identical one.

The second is cut and sew: the fabric is knitted or sourced to your specification, the pattern is cut to your measurements, and the garment is assembled from flat cloth with your labels in it. That is what we do — from 50 pieces per style, which is the part most cut-and-sew factories will not do.

Everything below is made to order. There is no stock to pick from. Each garment has a fillable tech pack you can download free, fill in, and send to us — or to any other factory you are comparing.

Fabric

Weight is the decision that matters most.

More than the colour and more than the print, fabric weight is what people mean when they say a garment feels cheap or feels expensive. It is worth choosing deliberately.

Stock fabrics. All are 100% cotton or 100% organic cotton.
FabricWeightReads as
Jersey185 GSMLight summer tee, drapes, slight transparency in pale colours

Colour and dye

Eight stock colours — black, white, sand, brown, grey flannel, volcanic glass, poseidon, green jacket — or any colour matched to a Pantone TCX code. Three dye routes: reactive for a flat solid, fade-out for a washed look, pigment for an irregular broken finish.

Decoration

How your artwork gets onto it.

Handled in-house, on the same site as the sewing. Artwork must be vectorised, with positions and widths given in centimetres and colours as Pantone codes.

Screen printRegular, puff and rubber finishes. Priced by number of colours.
DTGDirect-to-garment, for full-colour artwork and short runs.
EmbroideryPriced by stitch count. The usual choice for caps and left-chest logos.
SublimationAll-over colour, for designs that run across seams.
PatchesWoven and chenille, sewn on rather than fused.
Back printsLarge-format placement across the back panel.
Contrast stitchingA detail that reads as considered without adding a print.
Sun fadeA washed, sun-bleached finish applied as a wash stage.
Labels & finishing

The parts that make it your garment.

  • Woven neck label Polyester or cotton canvas, sewn on the back or into the seam. Standard 2.5 cm wide with adjustable length.
  • Care label Your logo instead of ours, or none at all. Inside-left as standard.
  • Inseam loop label The folded side-seam tab, if your design calls for one.
  • Custom fit Adapt our block to your measurements, or send cutting patterns and we will work to those. Pockets, fabric combinations and seam positions are all changeable.
  • Packaging Unpackaged, or an unbranded polybag made from recycled plastic. Custom printed packaging is not available yet.

Questions, answered

Do you sell blanks?
No. Everything is cut and sewn to order from your specification, which is why there is a minimum. If you want to decorate an existing blank, a print shop will serve you better and faster than we will.
What is the minimum per garment?
50 to 100 pieces per style, depending on the garment and fabric, counted per style and per colourway.
Can you make something not on this list?
Often, yes. The tech packs cover what we make routinely. For anything else, send drawings with measurements and we will tell you honestly whether it is feasible on our lines rather than find out during sampling.
Can I mix garments to reach the minimum?
No — the minimum is per style, because each style needs its own cutting pattern and machine setup. 50 hoodies and 50 tees are two runs.
What weight should I choose?
If you are unsure, name a garment you already own and like and we will match its weight. As a rough guide: 235 GSM jersey for a standard tee, 295 GSM for a heavyweight boxy one, 330 GSM fleece for an everyday hoodie and 400 GSM or 500 GSM terry for something substantial.
Is organic cotton available on everything?
On every jersey and fleece garment in the range, yes. Certified organic yarn costs more and is bought against certificates, so it does move the price.
Do you make the fabric or buy it?
Both. We hold the stock weights listed above, and we can source fully custom fabric to your specification — which adds lead time at the front of the project, so it is worth raising early.
